Cottage scene.
This task was done in watercolour, which I am determined to improve on. I really liked the pictures on the task sheet and enjoyed sketching it out, using a one point perspective. The cottage may be a little small but I like it. I struggle with trees so I think I need more practice. I used wet into wet for the sky and got a good result, and wet onto dry for the rest which looks quite pleasing. Overall I think I'm really chuffed with it.
Caerphilly Castle
Free reign for this task! I had intended to use my new dipping pen and inks but chose not to because I I need to learn how to use them. So I used perspective lines and carefully sketched the scene. Once happy, I used watercolours to complete the image, and tried to add some vibrancy by using bright colours as the original felt quite dark. I'm quietly happy enough with it, but I do feel that it's a bit "busy".
Colourful boat scene
I was looking forward to this task as the colours really appealed to me. I really enjoyed loading my brush with lots of pigment and adding it to the scene, but was disappointed with how my paper behaved. I made the mistake of choosing the wrong weight paper and consequently it cockled once the wash was on. But I'm really pleased with the overall finish and am happy with it.

On seeing this task, I felt really excited to have a go. During class, my concentration level was really high, and I felt so very relaxed while I was doing this that I almost fell asleep! I completed the drawing in class then continued with the ink at home. I am very pleased with the outcome.

Another acrylic piece, started in class and completed at home. I find great peace and drift away when I'm painting, and felt the same doing this one. I like the end result, not as much as the Hayfield but it's acceptable.
Hayfield
Started in class, with acrylics. Not my favourite medium but perseverance is key. I couldn't quite finish during the lesson so I completed at home and was really quite taken with the end result. Go me.. ! Lol. Enjoyed doing it all the same.
