Pen and ink Farm House
I knew I would love this , my favourite medium and plenty of detail to capture.
I didn’t quite get to finish this in class but didn’t need any persuasion to carry on at home. It was so relaxing and I kept seeing small elements that I had missed. I can block out the rest of the world when concentrating and lose the concept of time.

Pencil and watercolour farm house
I liked this image and the initial pencil sketching was fun . The addition of watercolour was a little daunting as it had the possibility of ruining my hard work. However worry alleviated it turned out quite well and I am pleased with the result.
Fantasy Woodland
It was quite a novelty painting a circular picture. I really enjoyed this one and the link you sent to the artist’s website was inspiring. I love her approach to art and I was really looking forward to this one. Seems everyone else in the class felt the same as we were all engrossed in the painting and very little chatting went on.
Thank you for introducing us this artist.

Stil life
I’m not very fond of still life as it doesn’t hold enough interest for me. However it was quite relaxing , I chose to use a warmer brown shade to brighten it a little and added a few other additions of my own. It is satisfactory but not one of my better attempts.
Rrees-2
However I decided it was worth another try as I liked the image initially and so I approached it using a much more delicate touch. The background is lighter in colour and the acrylic paint not as thick. I used a little colour to brighten it further and limited the black. I really enjoyed myself this afternoon and used the reverse side of my failed attempt and will now keep this painting.
Trees-1
My first attempt at this was a complete disaster. I applied the acrylic paint far too thickly and dark for the background . My trees were a mess and I gave up as it was now beyond rescuing and I intended to put it in the bin as I was disappointed with my first effort.
Jugs
I found this picture a little drab , non exciting and needed a feminine touch. I chose some pastel colours for some of the items and used a lighter shade of blue for the background. I still felt it needed cheering up a little so I added some flowers which made me happy. I enjoyed using gouache and was pleased with the result.
Moody Road
This image at first glance looked sad and depressing but yet quite atmospheric. I don’t think I have captured that as I would have liked. I really enjoyed it and getting used to acrylic once more, I am particularly pleased with my sky and overall happy with my attempt.
Doorway
This was a subject matter we have participated in several times, not my favourite door but relatively easy and less stressful task.
