Autumn scene
I really liked the warm colours in this picture ,it had plenty of detail but it lacked the clarity I long for. Using pen and ink I sketched out the buildings and trees and added colour using inktense pencils and an aqua brush. At first I thought I had made a big mistake but I persevered to the end and was glad as it turned out okay. I need to be more brave
Isolated home
I really liked the simplicity of this picture, it gave me the confidence to tackle it and felt more capable of actually completing it.
Guess what? I finished it and it’s still intact and I am very pleased with it!

Cottages in the street
I sketched this free hand and took my time applying the watercolour paint which I really enjoyed. I later added pen and ink details . The second task a little more detailed but I like depicting cosy village settings. I did have difficulty with the shadowing though, need to work on this aspect.
Chuffed with the result.

Caerphilly Castle
I didn’t know how to approach this image, the detail was so indistinct and depressing it was so dark. I was pleased that we were allowed to choose our own media so I reverted to my favourite pen and ink. We are always encouraged to make it our own and to be original. I find this quite difficult normally but the idea of filling the area with Welsh emblems seemed an obvious choice. I thoroughly enjoyed it , it kept me occupied for some time and couldn’t wait to do the next section.
Meerkats
This is one of several attempts to portray the meerkats, the failures were due to paint applications. One was due to unsuitable paper for watercolour, the others were dissatisfaction at my heavy handiness with the paint.
This final image was pen and ink with very limited watercolour added, quite happy with this effort.

camels
I applied the watercolour background but it was too strong a colour wash. I mopped up some of the paint to make it more delicate ,when that was dry I added some darker tones to the sand area and started to paint the camels. At this stage I felt it needed some definition so I used a fine liner pen to enhance the main features of this image.
I was much happier with the effect it gave me , I felt it rescued the picture from complete failure.

Robin pen and ink
This is my favourite image so far it’s everything I love. Pen and ink medium, lots of detail and a lovely robin, couldn’t be happier.
It was so relaxing to do , the room was hushed as everyone concentrated on their own version. I think I preferred it before I added watercolour pencil to the robin, it had more impact but I was sorely tempted to make him complete.

Dare Country Park
It’s was a lovely photograph which immediately concerned me as to how to replicate it.
I am not very imaginative with paint or skilful so I kept it small , I can’t say that I enjoyed it but I have done my best.
