Gail's Gallery - April 2021
Boots
This task just blew me away! I loved doing this one, it helped me to relax so much. I spent a little over a week completing it and loved every minute. Worked in pencil, then pen and totally freehand - no gridding
cup, apple, leaf
Pencil, pen and watercolour again. I was very relaxed during the whole session for this one. I find that the more relaxed I am, the more I can concentrate and focus on what I'm doing. Not perfect, but hey ho. Pleased enough with it
Chicken
This really was "out of my comfort zone" as I am never brave enough to use the pen on it's own. But for this task I decided to bite the bullet and have a go. I have to start somewhere...right..??! Straight pen, with watercolour wash. Looks ok, and I was so relaxed that I almost fell asleep!
Tenby Beach
Another class task which produced a rather child-like outcome for me, but it's a start, eh? I had a go! This was lightly sketched in pencil/pen, then I again used watercolour to finish. An enjoyable exercise.
Boulders
I did this one in class, but felt a bit haphazard trying this one. It's ok, but it feels a bit confusing. Still, I find that I'm relaxing more when I'm doing my art tasks.
Doorway
I thought this would be more difficult than it was but I was "in a zone" when I did it. One relaxed Saturday afternoon, I sat and completed it, first in pencil, followed by fineliner and finished in watercolour. Very pleased with the result.
