Cottages
Same scene, pen and ink with watercolour wash, started this in class and finished at home.
I've been to Bosham several times and may even had a sup in this Inn!

Houses
A copy of Jeanette Clarke's work in pen and ink and white gouache. This is very interesting, only one colour used, the white is a great contrast to the brown paper. nothing else required.

Rose 1
Sketched in pencil, applied several layers of acrylic in pinks and greens and made this copy before embarking on the next scary step--- in case it all went rogue.

Onion
Only pen and ink allowed!! Had to steel myself to attempt this, massively outside my comfort zone. However, with patience and perseverance I have managed to produce something which can be identified as an actual onion. So content.

Seascape
This image is from a photo I took and is one of my favourite places.
It was a very overcast day but suddenly the sunrays appeared low in the sky. The yellow and grey tones were reflected in the water left by the receding tide .I have this displayed in my home, such a relaxing scene.

Cockral
Pen and ink with a bit of colour. We all did this in class, great fun and a good laugh. A bit ragged but ok.

Strange tree
Just a bit of fun messing about. Acrylic mix of siennas, umbers and blues with a touch of white.
Something 'reptile' about this.

Still life
Pen and ink with added colour. This was a quick exercise in class. Always a joy working as a group.
All the same but astonishingly different. Individuals glued.

Lonley tree
This white pen on black paper only took a few minutes, made it up as I went along.
Its appeal is its simplicity, stopped myself from adding falling leaves, it's fine as it is.

Dylan Thomas
First time I've seen an image of young Dylan Thomas.
I used a grid for this as it helps greatly in positioning the facial features correctly, once you have the eyes, nose and mouth sketched accurately the rest is generally fairly straight forward and more relaxing. I used multiple layers of several acrylic colours.
I've been told that I have captured Dylan's likeness. So very happy.

Tree 2
Pastel pencil on black paper, Various colours blended. This exercise was very relaxing, love the soft dreamy atmosphere, no plan, just emerged. I'm happy with this creation.

Landscape
This was done in class. I used a mixture of acrylic colours and in the foreground I used a dry bristle brush on the verges to achieve the soft blurred effect. Nice calm warm day feel

Boots
Sketched loosely in pencil, added watercolour from my favourite palette.
Very happy with these old well worn boots.

Old boots 2
This was completed during our Teams meeting.
I'm trying to trust myself when sketching but relented again and used a grid in order to get the boots 'down' with some accuracy. used an HB pencil throughout.
Concentration and patience required for this task. You can tell they're boots, that's about it.

Tree 3
This was completed during a Teams meeting. Pen and ink with a little watercolour added. The whole group was engaged in this exercise, all connected and relaxed.

Rose 2
Same rose image, soaked the paper taking care not to wet the area of the rose. Applied several layers of watered down acrylic paint in muted colours, wetting the paper in between each layer until I was satisfied with the effect. Wet into wet is not a technique I have often used so I'm doubly delighted with this result. Very content and relaxed with this.
