Brett Cryer's Artwork

Charcoal landscape
A nother demo of using charcoal on paper.
Drawing allows me to lose myself in a process that I find both rewarding and uplifting and being able to communicate that enthusiasm to others is a wonderful feeling.

Charcoa Marble

Birch trees ink and wash
Ink washing is cool. Comparing the two side by side I prefer the ink wash as it feels darker and the woods thicker.

Birch trees in ink
I feel so pleased with this drawing. Not only did I take time over this, something I struggle with, but I experienced an almost serene feeling as I concentrated on the strokes for the dense background. I love dip pen and ink work!

View in Bute Park
Comments during process...
Playing with watercolour, decent paper, paints and brushes. Wet on wet (a lot!) and the hope is that out of this abstraction will emerge the Stadium and the bridge over the Taff from Bute Park...Calling this finished. Evokes autumn and rain for me which was what I wanted. Quite pleased with it overall. May well have another go.

Wooden barn sketch
I promise you there is a pencil drawing under there. Took hours over this. Perspective a bit ropey in places, but later on layer of 0.1mm pen and I'm happy with the result
